A 33-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, two months after he allegedly stabbed a victim in Jahangir Puri, northeast Delhi, an official said.
Kuvesh, the accused, also known as Vicky or Somine, from Bhalswa Village, was wanted in an attempt-to-murder case registered at Jahangir Puri police station, a senior police officer added.

The officer further mentioned, “The case relates to a September 4 incident in which the complainant, Raju of Swaroop Vihar, was allegedly attacked by three men, Monu Sharma, Kuvesh, and their associate, known as Kallu Dada, near a DDA park behind a gas agency in Bhalswa Village.”

Police said a trap was set up in Jahangir Puri on Friday, and Kuvesh, who had come to meet an associate, was apprehended.
During questioning, Kuvesh told investigators that he had turned to criminal activities in 2008 after befriending a man named Sanjay while working at a clothing shop in Jahangir Puri.
Police said he was first arrested in 2010 and went on to face several other criminal cases.
The accused also admitted that he and his associates had killed Sanjay in 2014 over a personal dispute, for which he was arrested and later granted bail last year, the police added.
Police said the September attack on Raju was reportedly carried out to avenge injuries he had allegedly inflicted on Monu’s brother earlier.
Investigators said the accused has prior involvement in at least four criminal cases, including robbery, theft, illegal arms possession, and murder. His family is financially disadvantaged, with both his father and brother working as rickshaw pullers.
Investigation into this case further is ongoing by the team to trace the other accused involved in the murder, the police stated.
